Hongye Little League team wins Asia-Pacific runner-up; Taitung County offers hot air balloon ride

The Hongye Elementary School Little League baseball team, representing Taiwan, has returned to Taitung after clinching the runner-up title in the Asia-Pacific Championship. County Magistrate Rao Ching-ling welcomed the young athletes at Taitung Fengnian Airport, celebrating their impressive performance on the international stage.

The team displayed remarkable prowess throughout the tournament, securing six consecutive victories against teams from the Philippines, Guam, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, and New Zealand. In the championship final against host South Korea, the Hongye players demonstrated resilience and tenacity, maintaining a close game despite ultimately falling by a narrow margin.
