House declared uninhabitable after roof fire in Hasselt, one person lightly injured

A house in Hasselt has been declared temporarily uninhabitable after a roof fire left its owner lightly injured by smoke.

The fire began around 1 p.m. on the roof of the home in Dikke Lindestraat after work was carried out there. A roofing worker was using a torch on the flat roof when it caught fire, and the flames spread to the tiled roof, a neighbor said.
