How artificial intelligence has changed Argentines' lives

Artificial intelligence has rapidly evolved from a niche technology for scientists and large corporations into an integral part of daily life. In just a few years, AI has begun assisting with everyday tasks, from operating smartphones and enjoying music to watching series, translating texts, and completing work assignments.

Defined by UNESCO as "systems or machines capable of imitating certain human intelligence capabilities, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, language understanding, and even creative production," AI's massive expansion in recent years has marked a significant turning point. In Argentina, this technology is now present in homes, offices, schools, hospitals, and businesses.

Many people may not fully grasp the profound changes AI has brought in a short period. These include the widespread use of facial recognition on mobile phones for security, the commonality of virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa for voice commands, and personalized content recommendations on streaming platforms like Netflix and Spotify, driven by AI algorithms analyzing user habits.

Furthermore, AI is transforming the workplace. A recent study by Bumeran indicates that 57% of Argentine workers already use AI-based tools for their tasks, a figure that continues to grow. The adoption is highest among individuals aged 31 to 50, who constitute 60% of regular users. The Administration and Finance sectors lead in AI implementation, followed by commercial, technological, and marketing areas, as AI enables task automation and efficiency.
