How “La Granja VIP 2” Began: Tensions Between Niurka and Manelyk and the First Nominee

“La Granja VIP 2” began moving immediately. On the opening night, contestants had already revived old grievances, distributed privileges, sent celebrities to the barn and produced the season’s first nominee.

The cast includes television, music, social-media and sports personalities, many of whom already know the rules of reality television. Niurka Marcos, Manelyk González, Ivonne Montero, Daniela Alexis “La Bebeshita,” Carlos Trejo, Kunno, Pimpinela Escarlata and Fernando Lozada were among those entering the farm.

One of the first confrontations came when Manelyk arrived and began greeting the other contestants. Niurka walked away toward the bathroom, and Manelyk responded: “A year and a half has passed and you still can’t get over me, poor pathetic baby.”

Niurka also reunited with Ivonne Montero, with whom she had clashed on “La Casa de los Famosos 2.” This time, their first encounter ended differently. After a brief greeting, the two hugged in front of their fellow contestants.

The audience began shaping the game from the first night. Manelyk won the most support, receiving immunity and the right to start the chain that determined part of the group dynamic. Pimpinela Escarlata, Mario “Mono” Osuna, Ivonne Montero and Manelyk then selected Pascal Nadaud, Kevyn Contreras “El Bicolor,” Fernando Lozada and Daniela Alexis “La Bebeshita” to become farmhands.

Being a farmhand does not mean being nominated, but it brings heavier duties. The four must help care for the animals, sleep on straw beds and shower outdoors with cold water. María Karunna, a member of Caló, became the first nominee after Ivonne chose to save Kenny Avilés, vocalist of Kenny y los Eléctricos.
