HRT Announces: Second Season of British Series 'The Home Guard' Soon on First Program

Croatian Television (HRT) is set to broadcast the second season of the acclaimed British drama "The Home Guard" starting August 1. The series will premiere on HRT – HTV1 at 5:19 PM, offering viewers a glimpse into life on the British home front during a critical period of World War II.

The narrative unfolds in the summer of 1940, a time of intense fear and uncertainty for the village of Great Paxford. As the German army advances through France following the defeat at Dunkirk, Britain braces for a potential invasion. The series, inspired by Julie Summers' book "Jambusters," focuses on a group of resilient women in rural Cheshire who work to keep their community together amidst the hardships of war.

Viewers can expect to follow the personal stories of these women as they navigate the challenges of wartime. The plot includes Pat's friendship with a Czech soldier, Laura confronting the consequences of her relationship with Richard Bowers, and the developing relationship between Spencer and Claire. Sarah receives distressing news about Adam, while Frances faces her own tragedy. Alison also makes a deal with the police.
