Hsinchu County Election Heats Up: Cheng Chao-fang Urges Focus on Policy, Not Destruction

Hsinchu County Magistrate candidate Cheng Chao-fang is steering the election campaign away from partisan attacks, focusing instead on policy and demonstrated achievements. "Constantly destroying others will not make oneself successful, nor will it make a city successful," Cheng stated in a recent interview on the program "Da Xuan Jing Lai Jiang." He believes the election should be a choice of performance, not party.

Cheng, currently the mayor of Zhubei City, presented his governance over the past three years as a blueprint for the county. He pointed to improvements in libraries, markets, parking facilities, parks, and social welfare in Zhubei, arguing that the city proves innovation, aesthetics, and efficiency can coexist. "Zhubei can do it, and Hsinchu County can certainly do it too," he asserted.

He recounted a market renovation project where initial opposition from vendors turned into enthusiastic support after completion, with one vendor exclaiming, "Mayor, I love you." This experience, Cheng said, reinforced his belief in the correctness of his direction and fueled his team's drive.

Cheng also emphasized his unique advantage as a candidate who has risen from the grassroots level of local governance. He believes this perspective allows him to avoid administrative disruptions and immediately understand how to ensure smooth development across different townships. He aims to apply this governance logic to other areas of Hsinchu County, promising better outcomes for residents.
