Hsinchu County Opens Registration for 2026 Mass Wedding

Hsinchu County is inviting couples to register for its 2026 mass wedding ceremony, scheduled for October 17. Registration opens on July 6 at 2 PM, with a strict limit of 36 participating couples.

This year's event will be uniquely held at the Far Eastern Department Store in Zhubei City, providing a convenient and comfortable venue for the ceremony and guests. The county government has significantly increased the benefits for newlyweds, with gift packages valued at NT$30,000 per couple, a 50% increase from the previous year. These gifts include vouchers for the department store, group and individual photos, and a commemorative USB drive with event highlights.

Eligibility criteria require both partners to meet the legal requirements for marriage and not have registered their marriage prior to the event. Additionally, at least one partner must be a registered resident of Hsinchu County. Alternatively, couples where neither partner is a resident may still apply if one partner has resided in the county for at least six months and is employed by a local government agency, school, organization, or private enterprise.

County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke and his wife will serve as the principal sponsors, while County Council Speaker Chang Chen-jung and his wife will officiate as witnesses. The event aims to provide a memorable and supportive start to the marital journey for the participating couples, celebrating their union with blessings from the community and local government.
