Hsinchu County Secures Early Double Gold at National Games; Hukou Junior High Dominates Compound Archery

Hsinchu County is celebrating a triumphant start to the National Middle School Athletic Games (全中運), with Hukou Junior High School leading the charge by clinching two gold medals in compound archery. These early victories in both the boys' and girls' team events are not just wins for the school but significant achievements for the entire county, marking the first gold medals of the games for Hsinchu.

County Magistrate Yang Wen-ko praised the athletes for showcasing Hsinchu's strong competitive spirit. He expressed confidence that these initial successes will serve as a powerful motivator, inspiring other Hsinchu athletes to perform their best and aim for further medals. The county's delegation, comprising 622 staff and athletes participating in 17 different sports, represents the largest contingent Hsinchu has ever sent to the games, highlighting a growing commitment to athletic development.

As of now, Hsinchu County's representatives have secured a total of 12 medals: 2 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze. Beyond the archery golds, notable performances include silver medals in the boys' and girls' team compound archery (Hukou Junior High), boys' team sprint cycling (Yangde Senior High), and girls' 10m air pistol shooting (Hengshan Junior High). Bronze medals were also earned in cycling and taekwondo, demonstrating the breadth of talent across the county's schools.
