Hualien Teacher Wins National Award for Guiding Rural Students

Wang Qiaoyun, an educator at Hualien Industrial High School, has been honored with the Ministry of Education's Teacher's Award for her long-standing commitment to vocational education. For years, Wang has guided students in the electronics field, using project-based learning and competitions to help them explore their potential and build confidence.

Her teaching philosophy centers on "exploration and practice." Wang leads students through the entire process of problem-solving, from identifying issues to designing solutions and completing projects. This hands-on approach cultivates independent learning, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. She frequently dedicates her personal time, including weekends, to train students for competitions, offering them opportunities to gain experience beyond the classroom and even travel outside of Hualien.

Wang understands the disparities in educational resources between urban and rural areas.
