Huang Tzu-peng and Liu Shih-hao achieve combined shutout as battery mates

TSG Hawks pitcher Huang Tzu-peng and catcher Liu Shih-hao have once again formed a formidable battery, achieving a complete game shutout victory. This marks a significant accomplishment for the duo, who are now teammates with the TSG Hawks after a history of playing together and apart.

Huang Tzu-peng and Liu Shih-hao were previously teammates with the Lamigo Monkeys and later the Rakuten Monkeys. Liu Shih-hao was later selected by the Wei Chuan Dragons in the expansion draft before both players eventually reunited with the TSG Hawks. Huang Tzu-peng joined via free agency this offseason, while Liu Shih-hao moved after being deemed surplus by the Dragons.

During the game against the Fubon Guardians, Huang Tzu-peng delivered an exceptional performance, requiring only 93 pitches to complete the nine-inning shutout without issuing any walks. This stellar outing was significantly aided by his battery mate.

"There were coaches who said that a pitcher and catcher are like a married couple," Huang Tzu-peng remarked. "My senior [Liu Shih-hao] has a lot of experience, which makes me feel more confident on the mound, and I really trust him. When I have concerns, my senior is willing to discuss them with me."

Huang Tzu-peng also acknowledged the support he received during spring training from coach Tseng Yi-cheng and the effective coaching of the catching group by Tu Chuang-hsun, who focused on analyzing opposing hitters during practice, yielding positive results.
