Human Skeletal Remains Found by Roadside in Nuevo Horizonte

Residents of Nuevo Horizonte, a community located about 35 kilometers from the urban center of Yapacaní, were startled Saturday by the discovery of human skeletal remains along the roadside. The find prompted an immediate response from the Special Force for Citizen Security (Felcc), which has initiated an investigation.

The discovery occurred when locals stumbled upon a human skull while traveling in the area. Alerting the police, they raised the possibility of a criminal matter. Felcc officers promptly arrived at the scene to legally collect the skeletal remains and gather preliminary evidence to aid their investigation.

The remains have since been transported to the morgue. There, they will undergo anthropological and forensic examinations. These studies are expected to help determine the sex of the individual, establish a possible identity, and estimate the time and cause of death.

Authorities are currently considering all hypotheses and are awaiting the results of specialized tests. They aim to ascertain whether the discovery is linked to a criminal act or another circumstance. The investigation remains in its preliminary stages, with police planning further inquiries in the area to gather more evidence and clarify the origin of the human remains.
