Hung Yen: 3 teenage girls weave recklessly, cause accident

Authorities in Hung Yen province, Vietnam, have issued multiple citations to three teenage girls following a reckless driving incident that resulted in a crash. The girls, identified as N.T.T.T (15), H.G.L (17), and Đ.N.Y (19), were traveling on a single motorcycle without helmets.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on June 3rd, when the 15-year-old driver, T., took her father's motorcycle. She was carrying the other two passengers as they traveled from Tan Hung commune towards Pho Hien ward. Witnesses reported that T. weaved erratically on Nguyen Van Linh street for several laps before losing control of the vehicle.

The crash happened at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh and Hai Thuong Lan Ong streets, where the motorcycle collided with the road's median strip due to the driver's inability to control her speed. All three occupants fell from the bike and sustained injuries.

Following the incident, the Traffic Police Department of Hung Yen Province summoned the three girls and T.'s father for questioning. The teenagers admitted to the events as described, and T.'s father acknowledged his failure to properly supervise his daughter, allowing her to use the motorcycle. The driver, T., was cited for multiple violations, including driving against traffic and operating without a helmet, and carrying excessive passengers. Her father received a citation for lending the vehicle to an unlicensed driver. The other two passengers were cited for not wearing helmets, and the motorcycle was temporarily impounded.
