Hungarian Swimmers Criticize Olympic Champion Milák for Skipping Relays

Kristóf Milák, Hungary's Olympic champion swimmer, is facing criticism from teammates and the public for his decision to skip relay events at the European Championships. Németh Nándor, a fellow swimmer and former classmate, expressed his disappointment, with many echoing his sentiments on social media. Németh Nándor himself was part of the bronze-medal-winning 4x100m freestyle relay team at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, highlighting the importance and special experience of team swimming.

Another Olympic champion, Hubert Kós, also voiced his criticism, stating that Milák's decision, while not diminishing his talent, suggests a focus solely on individual achievements rather than team cohesion. Kós believes a true legend supports and elevates their team, not just themselves. Milák and Németh Nándor previously shared success, winning gold medals together in the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relays at the 2017 Junior World Championships in Indianapolis.
