Husband's Ferrari Joyride With Another Woman Leads to Divorce in Taiwan

A 37-year marriage in Taiwan has ended in divorce after the husband flaunted a Ferrari ride with another woman in front of his wife, leading to her profound distress and a court ruling in her favor.

The wife testified that during a gathering with friends in 2018, her husband made ambiguous remarks to a female friend, stating he would take her for a spin in his Ferrari. This incident, coupled with his subsequent refusal to communicate and dismissive attitude towards her feelings, caused her to sleep in separate rooms.

Further compounding her distress, the husband offered no financial support during her period of unemployment due to the pandemic and showed no concern for her financial situation. Her disappointment deepened when she discovered he had secretly taken out a multi-million dollar loan against their marital home without her knowledge, claiming ownership and dismissing her right to question it.

The court found the husband's actions demonstrated a complete lack of respect for his wife's position and failed to make any efforts to salvage their deteriorating marriage. The judge concluded that the foundation of mutual trust and affection had eroded, rendering the marriage effectively defunct, and thus granted the divorce.
