'HYBE Rookie' TUIDE Charts All Songs on Debut Day; 'Soltronic' Sound Resonates

The new girl group TUIDE, managed by HYBE's label ABD, has made a strong debut, with all tracks from their first mini-album 'TUNE & PLAY' charting on major Korean music platforms. The album, released yesterday, saw its title track 'SUN KISS' reach 16th place on Melon's 'Hot 100' chart, with other songs also performing well.

The group's success is attributed to their unique 'soltronic' sound, a fusion of soulful warmth and electronic sensibility. Producers GroovyRoom helmed the album, enhancing the members' distinct vocal colors. Notably, the track 'Echo' interpolates a melody from Janet Jackson's hit 'All For You,' adding to the album's musical depth.

'SUN KISS' and other tracks evoke the early 2000s Shibuya-kei style, Brazilian and Latin house, and R&B. Music enthusiasts have noted the smooth grooves, reminiscent of artists like Mondo Grosso, Towa Tei, and Jazzanova, layered with GroovyRoom's signature basslines.

TUIDE kicked off their promotional activities with a debut showcase in Seoul, which was live-streamed globally via Weverse. They are set to begin their broadcast promotions starting with Mnet's digital studio 'Studio Choom.'
