Hyundai Chairman Chung Meets NVIDIA CEO Huang to Discuss AI and Future Mobility Cooperation

Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Euisun Chung met with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at the company's headquarters in Santa Clara, California, on June 24 (local time). The two leaders discussed deepening cooperation in future mobility and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The meeting served as a follow-up to discussions held in June when Huang visited South Korea. During that visit, both sides established common ground on collaborative projects. This latest meeting focused on expanding partnerships in areas such as autonomous driving, robotics, manufacturing AI, and the development of data centers and AI infrastructure.

Hyundai Motor Group is planning a significant investment of 9 trillion won (approximately $6.5 billion) in phases starting this year at the Saemangeum site in North Jeolla Province. This initiative aims to create a future technology innovation hub encompassing robotics, AI, hydrogen energy, solar power, and AI-based smart cities. The collaboration with NVIDIA is expected to bolster Hyundai's competitiveness in key future technologies, including software-defined vehicles (SDVs), autonomous driving, smart factories, and next-generation robotics, while also supporting the global AI ecosystem.
