Hyundai workers approve wage deal with 400% bonus and 12.7 million won payment

Hyundai Motor workers have approved a tentative wage agreement that includes a 400% performance bonus and a 12.7 million won payment.

The Metal Workers’ Union Hyundai branch said 31,166 of 39,638 eligible members voted. Of those, 19,183 supported the agreement, producing a 61.55% approval rate among voters. Turnout reached 78.63%.

The package provides a 100,000 won increase in basic pay, including the regular seniority increment, along with 15 company shares, 500,000 won in welfare points and a 200,000 won increase in summer vacation allowance.

The agreement also calls for Hyundai and the union to recruit 200 technical workers in the second half of 2027 and another 300 in 2028. A Hyundai representative said the approval would allow labor and management to focus on production in the second half of the year and deliver high-quality products to customers.
