Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, emphasized the critical role of presidential support for ministers to effectively deliver on their mandates. He shared that he relies on his wife's prayers to ensure continued backing from President Bola Tinubu.

I’ve said to so many people, I was a governor, and I was a minister before. You can be a minister… you see, if you don’t have that support, it is difficult for you to perform. You must have that support.

Wike spoke on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Water Supply Network to Bwari Satellite Town in Bwari Area Council. He noted that the administration has officially commissioned 50 projects so far and plans to unveil 10 more before January. "This is the 50th commissioning of project," Wike stated, clarifying that these are official inaugurations.

Drawing from his past experience as governor and minister, Wike explained that performance is significantly hindered without presidential backing. "You can be a minister… you see, if you don’t have that support, it is difficult for you to perform. You must have that support," he said. He revealed that he often asks his wife to pray for Tinubu's sustained support for the FCT Administration, saying, "Continue to pray that Mr President will not look away from us."

He believes that public happiness is essential for those in authority, stating, "When people are happy, those in authority will be happy. He concluded by affirming their commitment to not disappointing the President and ensuring the happiness of FCT residents.
