“I Can’t Wait”: Jamie Vardy Eager to Join Dastan Satpayev at Burnley

Jamie Vardy has wasted no time expressing his excitement about starting life at Burnley. The 39-year-old former Leicester City Premier League champion joined the club over the weekend and said he is ready to play his first match.

“This club has a proper footballing history and passionate fans who deserve a team that represents them and their town. I can’t wait to get going on the pitch and help the team move in the right direction,” Vardy said.

He will play alongside Kazakhstan national team winger Dastan Satpayev, who has already appeared four times for Burnley this season and earned a Player of the Match award in one of those games.

Satpayev missed Burnley’s subsequent match against Bristol City after suffering an injury in a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough. Burnley took an early lead but lost 2-1. Manager Nicky Hayen said the winger will be sidelined for several weeks, leaving his availability for Kazakhstan’s international fixture on September 26 uncertain.

Vardy’s career has included Premier League and FA Cup success with Leicester. He joined the club from Fleetwood Town after playing for non-league and lower-division teams, helped Leicester return to the top flight in the 2023/24 season, and made 26 appearances for England, including at Euro 2016.
