I’ll deliver critical projects before leaving office – Fubara

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is committed to delivering essential projects that will benefit residents, even with limited time remaining in his administration. Speaking at the inauguration of the 12.1km Egwi-Afara-Mba Road in Etche Local Government Area, Fubara reiterated his focus on improving lives through critical infrastructure and addressing development needs.

What is governance all about? Governance is providing services, protection of lives and property. Governance is, you can’t solve every problem, but you must try to meet the needs of the people.

Fubara, who has stated he will not seek re-election in 2027, views this decision as crucial for peace and development in Rivers State. He stressed that governance is about serving the people and meeting their needs, not necessarily solving every problem. The newly inaugurated road is expected to boost business activities and enhance security in the Etche area.

The governor also promised to extend the road to the Ndashi community and complete the General Hospital in Etche. He highlighted healthcare as a priority, despite time constraints, noting that rehabilitation projects for zonal hospitals in Bori, Omoku, and Degema are nearing completion. Fubara assured the people of Etche that a standard hospital would be provided before his administration exits office, and the request for the Ndashi road would be considered.

We have a very limited time, and because of that I can’t stand here and promise you everything. But one aspect we will not play with presently, no matter how tight it is for us, is the issue of healthcare.

He expressed confidence that projects initiated by his administration would be continued by the next government from his party, the All Progressives Congress. The completion of the Egwi-Afara-Mba Road was noted as a significant project that was initiated by the current administration.

On the request about the road leading to Ndashi, we will look at it and assure you that, for the sake of the Onye Ishi Etche, we will do something about it.
