Afrobeats superstar Davido revealed that marriage and fatherhood have significantly altered his personal life and the way he manages his brand. In a recent interview on The Vibe Q, the Grammy-nominated artist explained that he now surrounds himself only with people who can contribute professionally.

Davido emphasized that everyone in his current circle is expected to add value to his brand, rather than simply socializing. He encouraged friends to develop practical skills, whether it's photography, editing, or creative content generation, to support his business endeavors. He noted that his marriage to Chioma Adeleke has led to a more settled family life, which means he can no longer host large gatherings at his home. "I can’t have a hundred people in my house like before," Davido said, explaining that recording sessions for his latest album, ORIADÉ, were intentionally kept small, involving only essential team members.

Reflecting on his 15-year journey in the music industry, Davido recalled the unwavering confidence he had when releasing his debut hit, 'Dami Duro,' as a teenager. He attributed this strong self-belief, even bordering on delusion, to his ability to sustain a long and successful career in Afrobeats. "I over-believed.
