FC Barcelona defender João Cancelo has shared a harrowing account of the car accident that claimed his mother's life, describing the moments of trauma and his inability to save her. In an emotional interview with the Portuguese channel SIC, Cancelo recounted the incident, which occurred on the A2 road.

He lost consciousness during the assault, only to wake up with a knife held to his throat.
