Nana Otedola, mother of actress Temi Otedola, revealed her surprise at her daughter and singer Mr. Eazi expecting their first child shortly after their wedding. Nana Otedola shared on the couple's podcast, "How Far," that she had anticipated the newlyweds would spend at least three years traveling and enjoying their married life before starting a family.

When I heard that there was a baby, I was a little bit shocked because I assumed you guys were going to have like three years of travelling, being married.

However, Temi explained to her mother that she and Mr. Eazi had already been dating for five years prior to their marriage. Nana Otedola acknowledged this, stating, "She said to me, ‘Mom, we’ve dated for five years, we’ve done all of that.’ So I was like, ‘Okay.’ But then now I’ve learned not to be presumptuous about you guys anymore from your wedding."

The couple announced their pregnancy in May, approximately nine months after their private wedding in Reykjavík, Iceland. They shared the news via a joint Instagram post featuring photos of Temi's baby bump and a Bible verse. Temi and Mr. Eazi, who got engaged in April 2022 after four years of dating, tied the knot in August 2025. Nana Otedola also expressed her approval of the couple, noting that they complement each other well.
