IBB @ 85: Otti hails ex-military president as ‘Father of Abia State’

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has extended birthday felicitations to former Military President Ibrahim Babangida, who celebrated his 85th birthday. In a statement issued by Otti's spokesman, Njoku Ukoha, the governor lauded Babangida as a statesman whose leadership 35 years prior led to the establishment of Abia State on August 27, 1991.

"On behalf of the Government and good people of Abia State, I heartily congratulate President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida on attaining this remarkable age of 85," Governor Otti stated. He expressed deep appreciation for the historic decision made under Babangida's administration as Head of State, which resulted in the creation of Abia State, a state that has since contributed significantly to Nigeria's growth and development.

The Abia State Executive Council formally congratulated Babangida during its weekly meeting, recognizing him as the 'Father of Abia State.' The council thanked God for his life and well-being. Governor Otti concluded by praying for continued wisdom, strength, peace, and extended service to the nation for the former Military President.
