Idaan completes pipe interconnection work for Fourth Bridge project

Idaan completed the interconnection of a 20-inch potable-water line on Sunday morning in the area between piers E13 and E15 of Panama’s Fourth Bridge project over the canal.

The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers also expected to complete the interconnection of a second, 10-inch line later that afternoon. The work began at 9 p.m. on Saturday and was carried out by the Special Projects Department of the Metropolitan Management division.

The operations form part of Idaan’s Potable Water Systems Relocation project. They are intended to free underground space and adapt the existing water network as construction of the bridge project progresses.

Idaan’s executive director inspected the overnight work in Balboa. “We are here in Balboa at the work being carried out for the Fourth Bridge, this major project that will benefit all Panamanians,” he said.

He recalled that Idaan’s special projects team had previously diverted a 16-inch line in the same E13 to E15 area on May 24.
