IDF 146th Division completes southern Lebanon operations, as attacks on Hezbollah intensify

The Israeli military announced Monday that the 146th Division has completed its three-month operational period in southern Lebanon. During its deployment, the division reported eliminating more than 550 terrorists and dismantling over 2,700 infrastructure sites, including numerous weapons storage facilities and underground routes. The military stated that these actions were supported by the Air Force and specialized units.

The IDF also confirmed taking control of the Beaufort Ridge outpost and Wadi al-Saluki areas. IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin highlighted the strategic importance of Beaufort Ridge, describing it as a key Hezbollah geographic asset and a central hub for directing fire and observation towards Israeli communities. He noted that over 400 launches had originated from this area during Operation Roaring Lion alone.

These operations in southern Lebanon are occurring as Israel intensifies its campaign against Hezbollah. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have reportedly ordered the IDF to resume heavy attacks on Hezbollah's Dahiyeh stronghold in Beirut. The military's announcement of the 146th Division's withdrawal and the intensified operations signal a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict along the northern border.

It is a key geographic asset of Hezbollah and serves as a central hub for the terrorist organization. From this area, Hezbollah directs fire and conducts observation toward the communities of the Galilee Panhandle and Metula. Since the beginning of Operation Roaring Lion alone, more than 400 launches have been fired from this area.
