IDF doctor killed in southern Lebanon drone attack

Captain Doctor Ori Yosef Silvester, 30, from Tel Aviv, was killed in action in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces announced Monday evening. Silvester served as a doctor in the Shaked Battalion of the Givati Brigade.

The IDF reported that in the same incident, two other officers and one soldier sustained severe wounds, one soldier was moderately wounded, and two officers and one soldier suffered light injuries. The commander of the Shaked Battalion was among those lightly wounded, according to Army Radio.

All wounded soldiers were transported to a hospital for treatment, and their families have been informed. The incident involved an attack where approximately six explosive Hezbollah drones were launched toward IDF troops. According to Army Radio, the drones exploded on a Namer Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), resulting in Silvester's death and the injuries to the other soldiers.
