IDF finds Hezbollah youth publications promoting martyrdom, featuring Khamenei

Israeli troops patrolling southern Lebanon have uncovered weapons, terrorist infrastructure, and propaganda materials produced by Hezbollah's Imam al-Mahdi Scouts youth movement. Among the findings were postcards featuring Iran's former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in early Israeli and U.S. airstrikes.

The Imam al-Mahdi Scouts, Hezbollah's official youth organization, aims to shape future generations through ideological indoctrination and militarism. The movement recruits children and teenagers from Shi'ite communities across Lebanon, with an estimated membership in the tens of thousands. Experts suggest the scouts cultivate hostility toward Israel and the U.S. from an early age.

The Mahdi publishing house, part of the movement, disseminates propaganda through newspapers, magazines, and pamphlets. These publications often portray Hezbollah operatives as heroes and depict Israel as an enemy to be fought through terrorism and self-sacrifice. They also promote Iran's leadership, fostering admiration for figures like Khamenei among young readers.

According to experts, the scout movement functions as a crucial mechanism for ideological indoctrination and the early recruitment of future Hezbollah operatives. Members showing strong commitment may transition to the organization's operational units, while others maintain a commitment to violent resistance before potentially joining Hezbollah.
