IDF is ready and prepared for fighting with Iran to resume, Arabic spokesperson Waweya says

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are in a state of "full readiness and preparedness, both offensive and defensive" for a potential resumption of combat with Iran, according to IDF Arabic language spokesperson Lt. Col. Ella Waweya. In an interview with Al-Arabiya, Waweya stressed that the military no longer adheres to policies of containment or passive deterrence.

"We do not wait for missiles to fall or for the enemy to knock on our door before getting ready," Waweya stated, reflecting on the lessons learned from the October 7th attacks. "October 7th taught the most important lesson: policies of containment, waiting for the first strike, or relying on passive deterrence are no longer acceptable."

This declaration of readiness follows a high-level security consultation where Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stern warning to Iran. Katz stated that any attack on Israel would result in a "crushing blow." The meeting included senior military and defense officials responsible for offensive capabilities, air defenses, intelligence, and civilian preparedness.
