IDF kills Nukhba terrorist who took part in holding Omer Shem Tov hostage after October 7

The Israeli military announced on Monday that it had killed a Nukhba terrorist in northern Gaza who was involved in holding Israeli hostage Omer Shem Tov captive following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks. The military identified the deceased terrorist as Sabai Zaher Abd al-Hamid Abu Hasna.

According to the IDF, Abu Hasna infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre and subsequently engaged in planting explosive devices throughout the ongoing conflict. The strike that eliminated Abu Hasna also resulted in the death of Ahmed Samir Muhammad Washah, identified as a sniper operative in Hamas's military wing who also worked as a photojournalist for Al Jazeera.

In addition to these targeted killings, the IDF conducted another strike in northern Gaza that eliminated three other armed terrorists belonging to Hamas's military wing. The military stated that these individuals were attempting to carry out attacks against IDF troops. Among the other prominent Hamas figures killed in separate strikes were Ahmad Munir Khalil Zaza, the engineering officer of Hamas's West Jabalia Battalion, responsible for weapons production and booby-trapped buildings, and Hussein Safadi, the commander of Hamas's sniper array in Gaza City.
