IDF soldier arrested over suspected role in grenade supply network, stealing military weapons

An Israel Defense Forces soldier was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of supplying grenades, ammunition, and other weapons, potentially linking him to a series of recent grenade attacks in central Israel. Police are investigating whether the soldier supplied the weapons used in these incidents or if his arrest could lead to the source of the explosives.

During a search of the soldier's home in Bat Yam, officers discovered dozens of IDF weapons, including grenades, according to police reports. The arrest occurred shortly after an explosion was heard near a residential building in north Tel Aviv. While the device was believed to be a stun grenade and no injuries or damage were reported, police dispatched bomb disposal experts to the scene and are treating it as a criminal matter.

This incident follows a similar case in Herzliya Pituah hours earlier, where a suspected IDF stun grenade was thrown at a luxury car lot. No injuries or damages were reported in that instance either. Investigators are exploring whether these two incidents are connected to an ongoing dispute between the Musli and Jarushi crime families.

The investigation has been transferred to the Special Investigations Unit for further handling, as the Israel Police continue their efforts to understand the series of incidents and identify all involved parties.
