IDF Targets Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon After Hezbollah Drone Launches, Report Says

The Israel Defense Forces carried out a wave of strikes in southern Lebanon after Hezbollah launched two explosive drones toward Israeli forces operating there, Lebanese media reported.

The strikes reportedly targeted the area of Kfar Rumman, near Nabatieh. Lebanese media said an unmanned aerial vehicle strike in Nabatieh killed two people and wounded another. The report did not identify the victims.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli forces fired at one of the two drones and intercepted it. The IDF reported no injuries among its troops. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit called the launch “a blatant violation by the Hezbollah terrorist organization” and said the military would continue operating with force against what it described as repeated attempts to harm Israeli forces.

The latest strikes followed other attacks reported in southern Lebanon over the weekend. The IDF said on Saturday that it had struck Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure overnight, including weapons storage facilities used to plan and direct routes for terrorist attacks. The military said those strikes responded to an earlier Hezbollah attempt to target Israeli forces with a drone, which also caused no injuries among Israeli troops.
