If Iran kills US troops, it would be a good reason to restart war, says Trump

Former U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Thursday that any killing of American troops by Iran would provide a "good reason" to recommence hostilities. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump asserted that such an event would justify military action, while also claiming that the U.S. had decimated Iran's military capabilities.

Trump further criticized the House of Representatives for what he called a "meaningless vote" aimed at restricting his authority to engage in military action against Iran. He specifically targeted four Republican lawmakers who joined Democrats in supporting the resolution, which passed by a narrow margin of 215 to 208 and is now headed to the Senate. The measure marks the first successful congressional challenge to Trump's war powers since U.S. and Israeli forces conducted strikes against Iran in February.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump accused those who voted against his war powers of prioritizing the country's "fail" over his potential victories. He labeled the four Republicans as "GRANDSTANDERS" who should be ashamed, suggesting they were motivated by "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The resolution, however, is expected to face a presidential veto, potentially nullifying the congressional challenge.

Yesterday, in a meaningless vote, the House voted, 4 bad Republicans and all of the Dumocrats, to limit my War Powers, right in the middle of my final negotiations to end the War with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
