This alert comes as recruitment scams continue to plague Nigeria. Fraudsters frequently exploit the public's interest in government employment by circulating deceptive advertisements and demanding money from unsuspecting individuals. Government institutions and security agencies have repeatedly cautioned citizens against engaging with unofficial recruitment announcements.

Members of the public are advised to disregard the publication and rely only on information disseminated through the official communication channels of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The NCS specifically stated that the recruitment update currently being shared on some social media platforms is false. The Service advised Nigerians to verify any information through its official platforms before acting on it or sharing it further. Official channels include their Facebook page (Nigeria Customs Service) and verified social media handles on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, and TikTok (@customsng).
