IKEA and Xbox launch YXSTABY collection for gamers in Estonia

IKEA and Xbox have joined forces to launch the YXSTABY collection, a new line of nine products designed to seamlessly integrate computer and video gaming into daily life. This collaboration aims to create dedicated gaming spaces within homes that are also stylish and practical for non-gaming activities.

The YXSTABY collection, developed through close cooperation between IKEA and Xbox, draws on Xbox's 25 years of gaming insights and IKEA's over 80 years of home furnishing experience. Designers from both companies worked together, considering how furniture can support various gaming postures and moods, and how gaming accessories can be stored conveniently. The goal was to create furniture that people genuinely want in their homes, not just tolerate for gaming needs.

It's no longer just about achievements, but also about relaxation and socializing, and that changes the demands on space," said Philip Dilé, IKEA product development designer. "Xbox knows what gamers need from a gaming environment, and we know how to solve the small problems that arise from fitting those needs into everyday home life."

Xbox thinks a lot about what actually helps players immerse themselves in the game. Of course, the devices are an important part of it, but the gaming environment is just as important. The collaboration with IKEA gave us the opportunity to design a holistic home gaming experience – from the screen to the surrounding space.

Key pieces in the collection include a rolling TV stand designed for easy mobility and storage of gaming accessories, and a laptop stand shaped like a toolbox. The latter helps keep controllers, cables, and other equipment organized, transforming dining tables into gaming stations. The overall design emphasizes clean lines, soft forms, and a palette of white, black, and beige, with green accents, reflecting a Scandinavian aesthetic.

The YXSTABY collection will be available in Estonia starting October 3.
