Im Sung-jae misses PGA Tour Championship for first time in 8 years; Kim Si-woo, Kim Joo-hyung advance

Im Sung-jae's bid for an eighth consecutive appearance in the PGA Tour Championship fell short after he finished tied for 10th at the BMW Championship. The South Korean golfer carded a 1-over-par 72 in the final round, ending the tournament at 8-under-par 272. This result marked his fifth top-10 finish of the season but was not enough to secure one of the 30 available spots in the Tour Championship.

Im had entered the final round in seventh place, but needed to finish within two strokes of the leaders to advance. His streak of seven consecutive Tour Championship appearances, dating back to 2019, was broken partly due to missing several tournaments earlier in the season because of a wrist injury. Meanwhile, fellow South Koreans Kim Si-woo and Kim Joo-hyung secured their places in the final playoff event. Kim Si-woo finished tied for 33rd, and Kim Joo-hyung tied for 28th, placing them 5th and 29th respectively in the FedExCup rankings.

The BMW Championship title went to Wyndham Clark, who secured his third win of the season. Starting the final round with a five-stroke lead, Clark briefly lost his advantage but finished strong with three consecutive birdies on the final three holes to claim the $3.6 million prize. He joins Matt Fitzpatrick and Chris Gotterup as the third player with three wins this season. World number one Scottie Scheffler finished tied for 12th.

In other golf news, Yamashita Miyu of Japan won the LPGA Tour's CPKC Women's Open in Alberta, Canada. She set a tournament record for the lowest 72-hole score, finishing at 23-under-par 257, nine strokes ahead of her compatriot Yoshida Yuri. This ties the LPGA record previously set by Kim Sei-young in 2018. Kim Sei-young finished third in this event.
