Im Sung-jae ties for 15th at PGA Tour's Rocket Classic

Sungjae Im secured a tie for 15th place at the PGA Tour's Rocket Classic, a result that nudged his FedEx Cup ranking up to 57th. With only the Wyndham Championship remaining in the regular PGA Tour season, Im is in a solid position to compete in the first playoff event, the St. Jude Championship, which includes the top 70 players. However, his chances of advancing to the second round, the BMW Championship (top 50), and the final Tour Championship (top 30) are still uncertain.

Im carded a 3-under-par 67 in the final round, with four birdies and one bogey. He made birdies on the par-5 4th and par-4 8th holes during the front nine. After a bogey on the 13th, he recovered with a birdie on the par-5 14th and added another birdie on the 16th.

The tournament was won by Michael Thorbjornsen, who finished at 18-under-par 262. Thorbjornsen, in his second year on the PGA Tour, secured his maiden victory by shooting a remarkable 7-under-par 65 in the final round, holding off Xander Schauffele by two strokes. Meanwhile, Si Woo Kim finished in a tie for 42nd place at 6-under-par 274, maintaining his 7th position in the FedEx Cup standings.
