IMA Sells Onions at 10 Cents a Pound to Support Local Farmers

Panama's Institute of Agricultural Marketing (IMA) has launched a promotional campaign to encourage the consumption of national produce by selling Panamanian-grown onions at drastically reduced prices. Consumers can now purchase five pounds of onions for just 50 cents, translating to an exceptionally low price of 10 cents per pound. This initiative aims to provide much-needed relief to household budgets while simultaneously supporting local farmers. To ensure broader access and prevent hoarding, a purchase limit of 25 pounds per person has been implemented.
