Immersive 'Alice in Wonderland' experience to transform Buenos Aires Botanical Garden

Starting July 2, Buenos Aires's historic Carlos Thays Botanical Garden in Palermo will transform into an enchanting realm after dark with "Maravillosa Alicia," a large-scale immersive experience inspired by Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland."

The event is designed for all ages and aims to captivate those planning winter vacation activities in the city. It blends light art, monumental scenography, and immersive sound with interactive technology. Producers emphasize that visitors are not mere spectators but active participants, encouraged to journey through and star in the story.

"Maravillosa Alicia" features twelve unique installations created to harmonize with the garden's natural environment. These installations bring iconic elements from Carroll's universe to life, including the White Rabbit, the Mad Tea Party, the Queen's Garden, the Cheshire Cat, and a chess game, transforming them into interactive spaces. The project prioritizes sustainability, using low-consumption LED lighting without causing light pollution and employing self-supporting structures that avoid excavation. Single-use plastics are also prohibited, ensuring the garden is left in its original state.

A key innovation is ALI, described as the world's first narrative guide that operates directly via WhatsApp, eliminating the need for app downloads or special devices. ALI unlocks content, presents challenges, and facilitates an evolving interactive game throughout the visitor's journey. Additionally, visitors can interact with AlicIA, an artificial intelligence developed to extend Carroll's universe beyond the physical exhibition. The experience offers differentiated tours for children, with adapted devices for younger visitors, and is designed with comprehensive accessibility.
