Immigration Department urges workers to travel only after labour approval

Nepal's Department of Immigration is reminding citizens seeking foreign employment that they must obtain official labor approval before traveling abroad. The department has observed a concerning trend of workers arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport with only applications for labor approval submitted, but without the final necessary clearance.

This practice is causing significant inconvenience, as immigration officials cannot grant departure clearance without valid labor approval. The department clarified that some workers mistakenly believe their approval is granted when, in fact, only an application has been filed on their behalf, often without their full awareness of the application's status.

To prevent these issues, the Immigration Department strongly advises all Nepalis traveling on labor visas to verify that their labor approval has been officially issued. This proactive step will ensure a smoother travel process and prevent workers from facing unexpected hurdles at the airport, ultimately protecting their employment opportunities abroad.
