The shop has issued a stern statement, emphasizing that it does not engage in any online sales or authorize any third-party platforms. This warning comes after reports of individuals claiming to be affiliated with Bu Er Fang, advertising pre-orders for the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival mooncakes, and allegedly taking payment without shipping the goods. The shop has officially reported these fraudulent activities to the Changhua police and has retained a law firm to pursue legal action. Bu Er Fang stressed that any accounts or pages on social media platforms like Threads or Instagram claiming to be the official 'Changhua Bu Er Fang Mooncakes' are not affiliated with them. The shop, famous for its long queues, has previously been targeted by similar scams, including the sale of counterfeit mooncakes in fake packaging in 2022. They are determined to prosecute any impersonation attempts, vowing "no leniency."
