Imre Bence and Emil Nielsen excelled, Veszprém's season started without Ligetvári Patrik

Telekom Veszprém began their 50th season with a resounding 44-25 victory over ETO in a dominant handball performance. The Hungarian champions quickly established control, building a substantial lead in the first half.

Despite an early two-goal lead for ETO, Veszprém responded assertively. Hugo Descat scored twice, and by the time ETO called a timeout, Veszprém was ahead 13-8. Technical errors from ETO allowed Veszprém to extend their advantage further, with the first half concluding at 21-13.

In the second half, Veszprém's momentum continued. Goalkeeper Emil Nielsen, a new arrival from Barcelona, made his debut and impressed with his saves. Imre Bence also shone, scoring seven consecutive penalties and adding two fast-break goals to push the lead to 29-15. The match ended with Veszprém securing a decisive 44-25 win.

Veszprém is set to host Slovenian side Celje next, in a farewell match for Gasper Marguc, who is returning to his former club after 12 years. Following this, the team will participate in pre-season tournaments in Spain before facing Szeged in the Super Cup.
