A tragic accident occurred in Busan, South Korea, when a driver lost control of their vehicle and struck pedestrians on a sidewalk. The incident took place around 1:08 PM on June 21, in the vicinity of Daeyeon Station on Busan Metro Line 2 in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu.

The vehicle, identified as a K7 sedan, mounted the sidewalk and collided with pedestrians before crashing into a subway ventilation structure. The impact resulted in the immediate deaths of a woman in her 40s and another woman in her 70s who were on the sidewalk. Two other pedestrians, a teenager and a woman in her 30s, sustained injuries. The driver, reportedly in their 70s, also suffered injuries and is receiving medical treatment.

Firefighters responded quickly to extinguish a fire that had erupted from the vehicle's engine following the collision. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, focusing on how the K7 sedan, which was reportedly descending from a nearby apartment complex, ended up on the sidewalk and struck the four pedestrians before hitting the subway structure. The driver's condition and the exact cause of the loss of control are central to the ongoing investigation.
