Inadeh and ITSE to train talent for Panama's logistics sector

Panama's burgeoning logistics sector will receive a significant boost through a new collaboration between the National Institute for Professional Training and Training for Human Development (Inadeh) and the Specialized Technical Institute (ITSE). A memorandum of understanding was signed during the Logistics Cabinet's visit to Colón province, an initiative spearheaded by President José Raúl Mulino.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation focused on developing essential competencies, modernizing academic programs, and ensuring training directly addresses the demands of the labor market. Key objectives include identifying areas needing enhanced training, designing specialized programs, certifying skills, and preparing operational, technical, and mid-level management personnel.

Yaira Pitti, Director General of Inadeh, highlighted the initiative's goal of ensuring residents of Colón can access the numerous job opportunities created by the logistics and port activities. "Both Inadeh and ITSE have created a plan to divide the training to capacitate people," Pitti stated, noting that Inadeh is already conducting training in port operations, industrial safety, logistics, gastronomy, and technical English.

ITSE will also offer specialized programs, with its curriculum already presented for interested individuals. The partnership further includes promoting internships and professional practices to ease graduates' entry into the workforce. This alliance is expected to strengthen the connection between educational institutions and the industry, cultivating a skilled workforce to support Panama's expanding logistics platform.
