Inameh forecasts rain for the coming days due to the passage of three tropical waves

Venezuela is bracing for increased rainfall as three active tropical waves approach the country, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh).

The agency identified the systems as tropical waves 34, 35, and 36. Tropical wave 34 is currently moving east of Guyana, nearing 58° west longitude and south of 19° north latitude, traveling at approximately 28 kilometers per hour. It is expected to reach the Guayana Esequiba region within the next few hours.

Tropical wave 35 is advancing across the central tropical Atlantic Ocean, near 45° west longitude and south of 17° north latitude, also moving at 28 kilometers per hour. Its arrival in Venezuela is anticipated between Monday, August 10, and Tuesday, August 11.

Inameh is also monitoring tropical wave 36, which is moving west of the Cape Verde islands, near 26° west longitude and south of 19° north latitude. This wave is progressing more slowly at 10 kilometers per hour, with an estimated arrival in the Guayana Esequiba between Wednesday, August 12, and Thursday, August 13.

These three systems bring the total number of tropical waves formed this season to 36, with 31 having already affected Venezuela. Inameh predicts that the influence of these waves will cause cloudy conditions and rain in the northern Guayana Esequiba, southeastern Delta Amacuro, southern Bolívar, Amazonas, eastern Apure, western Falcón, and northern Zulia. The rest of the country is expected to have partly cloudy skies with clear intervals, under constant observation by the institute.
