Independent candidate Bashir Kagimu secured a victory in the Bukomansimbi Central LC1 chairperson race, defeating National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Dirisa Ssemanda by 174 votes. The win sparked celebrations among residents who had placed their trust in Kagimu's independent platform.

An emotional Kagimu thanked the voters for their overwhelming support, stating he was deeply humbled and promised to serve them diligently. He pledged to transform Bukomansimbi Central through improved service delivery and by ensuring residents access government programs.

Following his election, Kagimu introduced his executive committee, which he described as capable, trustworthy, and committed to community service. He urged residents to support the new team. Kagimu also issued a stern warning against any misuse of power, stating that leadership is about serving people and fostering unity, not creating divisions. He specifically named Magret Nakayiza as Vice Chairperson for her trustworthiness and Gerald Ssemwogere as Treasurer for his reliability, emphasizing the need for honesty, transparency, and accountability among all appointees.
