India, African Union Postpone Summit Amid Ebola Outbreak Concerns

In a move reflecting the gravity of the public health situation in Africa, India and the African Union have jointly decided to postpone the upcoming Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit. The summit, which had been slated to convene in New Delhi from May 28-31, will now be rescheduled for a later date. This decision underscores a shared commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of all participants in light of the concerning Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Ministry of External Affairs in India stated that both sides recognized the advisability of convening the summit at a more opportune time, considering the emerging health challenges on the continent.
