India youth group says protest to continue after Delhi clashes injure 180

India's youth-led "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP) movement vowed to continue its protests on Tuesday, demanding the education minister's resignation after violent clashes with police injured nearly 180 people in central Delhi.

The protests, which began as online satire, have escalated into the most significant challenge for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government in its third term. Millions of young Indians are supporting the CJP's call for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over alleged corruption and examination paper leaks that affected over 2 million students. The leaks for a national medical school entrance test in May led to some students dying by suicide.

Clashes erupted Monday as thousands marched on parliament, with police using batons and tear gas. Delhi Police reported 118 security personnel and 60 protesters injured, detaining 70 demonstrators. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke apologized to supporters, particularly women allegedly mistreated by male officers, and vowed the protest would continue at Jantar Mantar.

Health Minister J.P. Nadda met with CJP leaders to discuss demands, which include the release of activist Sonam Wangchuk, Pradhan's resignation, and compensation for students who died by suicide.
