Indian woman sets Guinness World Record for longest hair

Renu Dhariyal, an Indian citizen, has officially set a Guinness World Record as the living woman with the longest hair. Her remarkable tresses measure an astonishing 271.50 centimeters (8 feet 10 inches), surpassing the previous record of 257.33 centimeters held by Ukraine's Aliia Nasyrova.

Dhariyal has not cut her hair since 2015, a decision rooted in Indian cultural traditions that associate long hair with beauty. The length of her hair is notably close to the height of Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in history at 2.72 meters, with her hair falling just 0.5 centimeters short.

Maintaining her extraordinary hair involves a natural, chemical-free routine. Dhariyal relies on oils such as coconut, sesame, and amla, along with homemade preparations. Washing and detangling her hair is a time-consuming process that requires several hours.
