Indonesia arrests Malaysian pilot for allegedly smuggling 26kg of MDMA, customs office says

Indonesian customs officials have arrested a Malaysian Airlines pilot at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle a significant quantity of illicit drugs. The pilot was apprehended after arriving on a flight from Kuala Lumpur, carrying approximately 26 kilograms of MDMA, also known as ecstasy.

Further complicating the case, a urine test revealed that the pilot was under the influence of both cocaine and methamphetamine at the time of his arrest. This dual offense raises serious concerns about the pilot's fitness to fly and the potential security risks involved in international aviation.

The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by Indonesian authorities to combat drug trafficking. The seizure of such a large quantity of MDMA underscores the persistent challenges faced in preventing the flow of narcotics through major transportation hubs.
